ShivYog Food for your Thought

Namah Shivaya readers,

This is a guest article which was sent directly to this blog and I am publishing it as sent including the mail lines for clear understanding. Except the little formatting here and there and images, the entire text is maintained as sent. for originality. I believe it should be useful for new sadhaks. Thank you Ushaji. Namah Shivaya.

I am in this path of ShivYog for only about two years now but feel it has completely taken over my life and I feel very fortunate that I found Baba Shivanandji at this point in my life. I was writing a mail to my best friend describing my learning through ShivYog. As I continued to type, it turned into a long description, it seemed like a good intro of basic teachings (covered only some aspects...I am only a beginner and the learning is never ending) Can this be useful reading for your blog followers?

Thanks for everything,
Usha Mehta

Some ShivYog Food for your Thought
A) Babaji says our Soul memory carries past and this life Karmas as impressions in Chakras. He also says one's thoughts are controlled by the past karma (Sanchit Karma's) stored in the soul memory. These accumulated karmas in our soul memory are responsible for the nature of our thoughts. Thoughts create vibrations. Vibrations is energy. The Quality of energy generated from our thoughts depends on the quality of our thoughts. Simply put, positive thoughts will generate positive energy and vice versa. Energy will be positive (higher frequency) if the thoughts are of positive nature {unconditional love, gratitude, forgiveness, service} or bad/negative (lower frequency) if thoughts are negative {hatred, jealousy, anger, greed, dishonesty}.

The Sanchit Karmas can be dealt with in two ways:
  1. At some point in life the dormant soul karma memories (Sanchit Karma's) become active (Prarabdh Bhog). When Sanchit Karma's become Prarabdh Bhog, one is left with no choice but to go through the circumstances that suddenly appear in one's life in the form of physical disease or other financial/mental/emotional problems through relationships or other people.
  2. When we deal with the negative situations resulting from Sanchit Karmas becoming active as Prarabdh Bhog, we ignorantly create more negative Sanchit Karmas. This is because one's natural thoughts and actions while dealing with all negative situations are of anger, ill will, jealousy fear, misery, etc
If we want to avoid the sufferings from the Prarabdh Bhog, we can erase the Sanchit Karma from our soul memory before it is activated and becomes Prarabdh Bhog.  This can be achieved by
    • Meditating and healing with Sanjeevani (divine energy, invoked by sadhaks/ShivYogis with the assistance of Babaji during the three courses taught in the shivirs:
      • Sidha Dhyan and Healing
      • Shambhavi Dhyana and Healing
      • Shree Vidya.

B) Practicing the principles of Nachiketa Agni Dhyana - (unconditional love, gratitude, forgiveness) and selfless service. Babaji teaches that if one clears the soul memory of the negative sanchit karmas and maintain positive thought status one can achieve a level of purity with a highly positive vibrational energy level. When we vibrate at a high energy level matching the high cosmic/divine vibrational energy level and if at this moment we make an intent  it is easily materialized. Usually, we vibrate at a much lower vibrational energy levels (due to negative thoughts) than the cosmic energy. Our intents/desires do not get supported by the cosmic/divine energy due to the difference in the vibrational energy level of the universe and individual therefore materialization of intents evades us.
