The Master takes us to his Tapobhoomi

Beautiful 3 days spent in the land of Rajasthan with the Master.  Every nook and corner we travelled in Lalsot had posters of the shivir at every locations including taxis and markets. One thing i was surprised with was the heights of hospitality in a world where one thinks of so many excuses or shrinks away to even offer someone a glass of water or tea and here are the Rajasthanis, who go beyond anything to serve their guests. All the while i was thinking that the home next to the venue, where we ate food, was a place arranged by people for us as done in other locations we travel to. To my surprise while we sat on the ground and ate our food in the huge compound of this home, i saw many new people walking into this compound inside which sat ladies of the house making rotis. When people walked in, they were asked to sit, paper plates were laid and food was served immediately. The lady making rotis asked all those seated continuously whether they wanted rotis. If it was a yes, she would

Making the best of ShivYog

Babaji has now increased the number of shivirs than he was doing before and had mentioned in the beginning of the year 2010 to make the best use of this year. Babaji is doing his best to reach out to as many people as possible and at the same time it is not just his intentions but the intentions of the growing number of sadhaks. If the collective need for babaji's blessings are strong from any geographical location, he is there soon. He also makes sure that he reaches out to far locations atleast once in a year for he knows sadhaks are waiting for him. Babaji is at his full best to what he can contribute to the society, to planet earth and to existence itself. He is fully geared with his powerful stance and looks, ready to pour out love and grace at the slightest move. It is a great blessing for mankind that gurus are emerging all around with an attitude of selfless service and a determined attitude to ascend all beings and thus ascend the planet itself. It is commendable to see g

Sadhak's Experience

An excerpt from Bramhalok put up here with the intention of sharing a sadhak's experience. Babaji always says, “Love everyone who comes to you. Never never hate anyone. If someone is coming to you, it is either because he has some pending Karmas with you or he needs help and is looking up to you. Don’t shout at him. He needs help. Shower your Unconditional Love on him/her. Help him in WHATEVER way you can. Just in case you can’t, don’t hush him over, lovingly say no but with equal respect as you give to yourself. It is his karmas that he is a Dog or a beggar today, in one of his lives, he might very well have been a King”. I always tell myself when the ego/Logical part of me tries to overtake my Compassionate part. “Dude, you are doing Sadhana, healing, helping etc. What have you got in return. The problems in your life are as it is. If all the spiritual practice you are doing is Nishkam then how and who is going to wipe out your Karmas and when?”. Until a long time I had no answe

Ankur's Experience

Thanks to Ankur Kamboj, Ghaziabad for sharing his experience. Namah Shivaya! My journey of  ShivYog  started in somewhere in mid January 2009 when I started to listen to Babaji's programme on Astha TV.  Before I used to pray in the morning everyday.  I was blessed to be born in such a family where everybody supported me. My grandma used to take me to mandir or katha in my childhood.  I just used to sat there calmly; I can't say I enjoyed it, but yes,  I did like it sometimes. One thing I could not understand that how to apply these kathas that (swamiji tells) in my real life; maybe I was not mature enough to understand that. Now I'll come to the point. I used to listen to pravachan on TV of many saints, but I loved to watch someone who talks about  practical life  which I could put into my life for betterment and this attracted me more though my grandmother loved  to watch  kathas of Shrimad Bhagwat,  Shiv Mahapuran. I am not saying that they are of no use but actually

How I came into ShivYog

This article is more of a personal writing and is written with the only intent of sharing with other sadhaks and in totality reflects my personal views only. This is a question that many hold since a Christian name I hold :) That is why I thought I must share with you my views. Babaji says, "If there are variety of dishes in front of you, do you eat everything? If you have variety of clothes displayed to you in a cloth store do you choose everything? No. You exert your power to chose. You cross verify, examine, compare, ask questions, clear doubts, match your budget, match your liking and then you choose." Paths are many, masters are many, options are many, techniques are many. People choose. I did the same. Now that does not mean that the clothes I did not buy were bad. The only attire I chose matched my liking, affordability, practicality, satisfied my queries and best of all I thought would look good on me and vibe well with me. The rest we

An incident of Pune Shivir, May 2009 (my first shivir) I was in the hotel room on the fourth night of the Shivir and was reading a book "Pathanjali's Yoga Sutras" and while going through the rigid disciples of a yogi as explained by Pathanjali (Father of Yoga), I thought to myself "How come Babaji never talks about these basic disciplines that a spiritual aspirant should have?" I turned to my friend and said, "Babaji should tell some guidelines to  ShivYog  sadhaks which can help us." Saying this I continued reading. Next day, the shivir went on and we had an early lunch break and babaji returned at 12:45 p.m. and as we were singing at his entry to his chair, Babaji sat with his eyes closed for a while and then opened and said, "While I was coming here I had a message from the guru mandala to convey that there are lot of youths in this shivir and it is a very happy thing.  They have asked me to convey some "aacharan" and guidelines

Kama (lust)

Oops! One topic that is always restricted and shut down deep within but still which is battled every now and then. Lust becomes one of the greatest obstacle for a spiritual aspirant and more difficult because one cannot discuss this openly as we discuss other spiritual matters with each other or in forums.  Now, I am not an expert in this subject but know that I am one amongst you. This is an in-depth subject and I am only expressing a normal layman view just trying to help you know that noone is alone in this. Let me become the book and let me become the reader here :) Lust is one of the greatest obstacle in spirituality as this is the same precious energy that is used up for spiritual progress. In lust the lower chakras are more dominant. It flows from swadisthan and below.  In lust the energy always flows down to the sexual organs and that provokes the release of that energy though different acts. Babaji often mentions the difference between love and lust.  He says lust is experien

Music plays such an important role in spirituality. Music that is made of vibration. We can trace back life or creation also to vibration - to sound - the OM (Aum). What provokes me to write this article is the recent videos I saw on westerners creating and singing bhajans or chanting them so beautifully. Also a video that was posted by Preet which showed a child looking at the picture of Yogananda Paramahamsa and singing. It is such a beautiful connection. For me, music has always played a great role in "connecting". I say this with experience in producing music, creating tunes, singing, playing instruments, etc. I never knew that it could be so connecting because I always had this craving since childhood for music. I always played or sung for music groups just for the passion I had for music. It was only after I came in touch with babaji  that I learnt many many things including the music connection. I also realized a very important thing. All my life, I have seen the mus
